Relationship & Intimacy Issues
Do you jump from one relationship to another or find it difficult to trust, be vulnerable and commit to a partner? Then counselling will set you free to discover the relationship of your dreams.
Being vulnerable enough to trust is scary
Vulnerable means we must trust enough to risk being hurt by the other person. This can be a very frightening prospect, especially if past experiences have shown us that trusting and opening up emotionally can leave us hurting and filled with regret and pain.
Another reason that trusting and open to another person can be so difficult, is that many of us grew up in homes where vulnerability was not valued. It may also be that we witnessed our family being hurt because of trusting and sharing. A family history of domestic violence, emotional abuse or simply being told that our thoughts and feelings are not important, can also be a reason emotionally vulnerable is challenging.
How Counselling can help with relationship intimacy concerns
Seeking the help of a professional counsellor can allow you to gain an understanding of your family history and past relationships. Counselling sessions may also be able to help you uncover how your family relationship patterns can be passed down from generation to generation. It also may be from a trauma from previous relationships or experiences.
Together we can clarity how what are your triggers of the past and work together in creating a brighter more intimate future. I use of combination of Counselling, Schema Therapy, Hypnotherapy and CBT. You are fully in control to use whatever therapy you are the most comfortable work with.
